Facing Forum Closure... I need your donations now

Dear Activelock Community;

I normally try to make this engine run with it's own fuel: basically with money out of my own pocket.
However, harsh economic conditions and the price of everything going up is now forcing me to consider closing down this forum.
Monthly cost of this site for me is $4.99 US dollars. I know it's not a large sum, but on a yearly basis it started becoming an additional burden for me since there's no more contributions or donations I am receiving from this community. I was expecting some people, who have been utilizing this software for their businesses or personal needs to chip in some, but that did not happen. A handful of developers sent me donations in the past. I can't sustain this operation without your help anymore.

A few dollars of donations may not sound a big deal, but $4.99 a month will keep this site running. Otherwise, if there's no external support, I will have to close this site down next month and sourceforge will remain the only means of support and communication.

I hope you understand and can support our community.
Our mission is not complete yet: we have so many new targets and tasks to complete. But those will only happen with your support.

You have done much (much) more than your fair share on this site so you should at least not be out of pocket and I'd like to think that most of us feel the same way and that all we need (from time to time) is reminder like this one to do our bit.

Hi Ismail,

While I haven't yet used ActiveLock I would hate to see the Forum disappear because of a small problem like cost of hosting.  As I see it if you are always in need of donations the problem is just going to recurr.  I assume that the same problem exists for the main website.

I'd suggest that the best way to avoid this problem in the future is for me to offer you a free hosting account so that you can transfer your domian name, site and forum to that account; it will be a proper hosting account with a control panel.  Any donations you receive can then be kept to purchase tools or whatever else you need to keep this software alive for the community.  I would like a discrete link on each page of your website that refers back to one of mine (I'll disclose the URL if you follow-up but it is not porn or anything distasteful) but no advertising will be needed on your website.

If you are interested in pursuing this please email me and we can sort it out for you.  I assume that you can see my email address but if not reply to this post with your email address and I'll contact you.

I hope I can help a little more next time Ismail, I am still working on debugging my software. I will pledge 50c for each copy I sell which amounts to just over 1% for one title and near 2% for the other.

Do you offer Free Asp.net Hosting with unlimited bandwidth and frontpage extensions? and co.cc domains? and ms access databaes? because I was going to fix up the ActiveLock Web Service Written in Asp.net which is here: http://activelock.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/activelock/Activelock3.6.NET%20WebService/ and I was going to need a free asp.net host with unlimited bandwidth and frontpage extensions and co.cc domains and ms access databases

Although I haven't been an active member of this forum or of Activelock I see the great advantage and future potential of this for myself as I am sure for others also.

I have several hosting packages that I use for various websites of my own and I would be happy to donate room on one of those for this forum.
